SRI LANKA DEFEATS HONG KONG

Ipoh: Sri Lanka kept their hopes of a semifinal birth alive with a  5-0 win over Hong Kong in their second game.

The win was important for the Sri Lankans  as they had lost their first game 0-1 to Singapore in their opening game.

Unlike their first game, Sri Lanka who emerged runner-up in the last tournament in 2006 played with more purpose and made use of the chances they had.

Malit Rasanga put his team ahead in the 10th minute  but Sri Lanka however could not double up the score.

It was a different story in the second half as Sri Lanka dominated play to convert four goals-  two each by Mohamed Irfas Mansoor and J Dodamwala in the 38, 48, 57 and 62th minute.
