Singapore made a good start in the 4th Asian Schools Hockey Championship by defeating Sri Lanka 1-0 at the Azlan Shah Stadium in the first game today.
Irfan Noor Hakim Azami emerged as the hero for the Singapore team when he scored the winning goal at the 60th minute in a penalty corner.
Both teams had equal chances throughout the game, however the Sri Lankans were let down by several penalty corners.
