IPOH: Thailand advance to the semifinal from group B  after holding 2006 runner-up, Sri Lanka to a scoreless 0-0 draw.

Both team played attacking game but poor finishing let them down. In fact both team squandered numerous chances they had from the numerous penalty corners.

Even though it was a much desired result for the Thais but deep down they know that they face an undulating task having to face home team dan defending champion, Malaysia in the semifinal tomorrow night. (tonight)

It was heart breaking for the Sri Lankans who did everything but score the much needed goal to ensure a berth in the semifinal. Even when they finally scored a goal in the last minute of play it was disallowed as the ball was hit from outside the D.

With the win, Indonesia will now wait for the outcome of the group B clashes between Thailand – Sri Lanka and Singapore – Hong Kong to know the semifinal opponents.

THAILAND AND SINGAPORE ARE EQUALLY OUTSTANDING

Ipoh : Thailand and Singapore had a draw of 2-2 in their match last night and now both teams have equal chances to be in the semifinal in the 4th Asian School Hockey Championship 2014.

Both teams need to get a draw in their last game today. Thailand will be facing Sri Lanka while Singapore will be competing against Hong Kong. The Singapore team seems to have an easier path since they are competing against the bottom rank team in the group.

During the game last night, Singapore led as early as the 20th minute through a penalty hit by Irfan Noor Hakim Azami. However, Thailand managed to score their first goal at the 32nd minute through a field goal by Pasakorn Wadtuma.
