ARRIVAL OF THE CONTINGENTS IN IPOH

IPOH : All seven competing teams for the 4th Asian Schools Hockey Championship commencing tomorrow are here in Ipoh.

The last team to arrive at the hotel was Macau at around 12.30 a.m. Sri Lanka, being the first team to arrive, was in Kuala Lumpur since 13th August.


Meanwhile, the host team, Malaysia has been in Ipoh since 11th August for the venue familiarization and the warming up sessions against the local teams.

PERAK IS ALL SET TO WELCOME THE CONTINGENTS


IPOH: Director of Perak State Education Department, Tuan Haji Mohd Idris b. Haji Ramli, welcomes the arrival of the competing teams of the 4th Asian Schools Hockey Championship that will be held this Saturday.

“Perak welcomes all the competing teams and wishes them a pleasant stay in Ipoh. I would also like to wish all the best to all the teams,” he said.

There are seven competing teams namely Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the host, Malaysia taking part in this championship which will be officiated by the Honourable Director-General of Education, Ministry Of Education Malaysia.

PERAK STATE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES ITS CHEERING TEAM

IPOH: Eight schools have been chosen as the cheering groups for the competing teams for the 4th Asian Schools Hockey Championship. The selected schools are SMK Anderson, SMK Raja Permaisuri Bainun, SMK Raja Perempuan, SMK Gunung Rapat, SMK Raja Chulan, SMK Seri Ampang, SMK Seri Intan and SMK Tambun. 


SMK Anderson has been chosen to cheer for Malaysia whilst others will be cheering for Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Sri Lanka and Indonesia respectively. 

Deputy Director of the Perak State Education Department, Zulkurnaini Hussain had launched the cheering teams for the competing countries at 11 a.m. on 11th August 2014 at the Kinta Utara Education Office Hall.

IPOH TO STAGE THE 4TH ASIAN SCHOOLS HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

IPOH: Six teams will be competing in this year's championship starting Saturday, August 16th at Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Stadium, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. 

The Deputy Director of the Perak State Education Department, Tuan Haji Zulkurnaini b. Hussain, said during the launching of the website for the championship that the department is preparing its best to host the game despite in mourning for the late DYMM Sultan Perak. 

“The teams for the championship are divided into two groups; Group A - Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Macau; Group B - Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong,” he stated.

"Four games will be held daily at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. And 9 p.m.," he added.

The Deputy Minister of Education II, Y.B. Tuan P. Kamalanathan, is expected to grace the closing ceremony on August 20th.
